RPRA Annual Book Sale - A History

The Book Sale organized by the Friends of the Rockcliffe Park Library is known for the high quality of its books and audio visual material- CDs, DVDs, vinyl records etc.

Books are all donated, and in good condition and have not been picked over by dealers before the sale. As we are mindful of the competition of electronic books, prices are extremely reasonable. Donations come in from surrounding areas such as LindenLea, New Edinburgh and Manor Park as well as Rockcliffe Park so it is no surprise that we have a collectors table, lots of high quality art books, a strong section of biography and history as well as recent fiction, classics and children’s books etc.

It is easy for people to donate as they have only to bring donations to the library or- if they cannot do this, the library will arrange for a volunteer to pick them up. Over the years the Library Book Sale has enabled our branch to increase the number of magazines it carries as well as add to the number of children’s books, adult fiction and the express reads. On the supervising librarian's recommendations, we have helped buy some library equipment. We make a yearly donation to the Friends of the Ottawa Public Library.

Drop donations at the branch during library hours, or contact 745-2562 for pick-up.

Note: The RPPS Book Fair organized by the Rockcliffe Park Public School Home and School is separate from the RPRA Book Sale. The RPPS Book Fair is held in the fall in the School Gymnasium.
